Drops

epic games should add drops to the same place where you buy credits. that way, instead of spending 20$ on credits and waiting for the one day when your favorite item is in the shop, you could just buy 10 or 20 drops for like 10 or 20$. then, you open them and maybe you dont get ur one item you wanted, but at least you got something. i know twitch drops and other kind of reward drops already exist but no one wants to go watch a random twitch stream for ever just to get one import drop.

The item shop is designed around the FOMO effect. You checking it every day for the one item you want, occasionally buying something on a whim because "who knows when it might be available again" is exactly why Epic Games made the items shop the way it is. Making it more convinient to buy more items is working against that psychological effect.

@Blink Not necessarily. There is a big gradient between sustainable income and min-maxing for the sake of shareholders. If you didn't increase your revenue from last quarter, your investors will leave for someone else who did. So you cut corners, penny pinch and disregard what would be good for the community, if it means the money number goes up faster.
