WHITE HAT??!!!!

I was playing casual 1v1s and came across this kid who I'm 90% sure had a white hat. Since I'm not educated at all I don't know if there are any close lookalikes or if it's possible to hack and get this stuff but I have no idea how a kid like him would have it. He won by one point and I'm mad trash at the game so I don't think it would be likely he would have one. Does anyone know what is happening here? I'm so confused.

This is a Top Hat, not the White Hat handed out by Psyonix. But the Top Hat doesn't drop in white like this afaik, it's black with a colored band. It's most likely from the item shop.

White hats used to be handed out to players who hacked the game in order to report and fix the game. These "white hat hackers" didn't have to be high ranked, so it is possible (incredibly rare tho) to see one in low ranks.
