1s tips pt. 2
heres part 2.
- 1s is a mental game as well as physical. i usually turn text and quick chat off. it helps a ton since i am not paying attention to my opponents trying to get into my head.
- do not complain about the way opponents are playing. if they have a weird playstyle and do "cringe" stuff then adapt to it. if you only expect 1 type of playstyle you cant adjust and you will not rankup.
- dont be discouraged about players that are high in rank in your lobby (e.g. c3 2s in a d1 1s lobby). if they are in that rank i can assure you 99% of the time they are bad at 1s and dont have good 1s gamesense. if you let that get to you you WILL lose. ive played high gc2s and gc3s in d3 1s and ive still won.
- dont grind 1s for hours on end. you will deteriorate yourself. my advice is to do 2-3 at a time then take a break with another mode or hop off the game. at least for me grinding 1s for too long causes me to play worse overtime.
- to reiterate what i said last time dont be like blink and steal all the boost and try to demo every opportunity you get. it never works. he can tell you.
- analyze you gameplay. reviewing your replays shows you what you did wrong, why things happened, and what you could have done better. improving skill is an active process, not passive, meaning it doesnt magically appear overtime. as humans we can adapt automatically to an extent but it wont get you very far if you dont put in the work yourself.
- these tips (from pt 1 and 2) are for you to put into practice. it will take time. if you work consistently on your gameplay and not just grind the mode you will see results.
i would be happy to 1v1 anyone during the week/weekend if i have time or do a replay review (if you have discord) on the weekends. ive got back into a 1s grind and im 1 game off of c1 currently. i will most likely put out 2s and 3s tips in the future. good luck in everyone's matches
