How are they remotely the same design? “I created this design” omg you people

@OceanicFeeling if you want to be a respected/respectable designer, yes you “need” to change your ways. No you’re, not “harming the earth” but you are basically spitting on the faces of real designers saying “look! I can get on the front page without even trying” meanwhile they actually put thought into designs.

@Jordan_Robles ahh but maybe I don’t care about the respect or opinions of other designers - maybe I just want to make designs which I like. Why would I still need to be more original then? Not to mention the fact that sometimes the simple way is the best way. In this case, I’d experiment with different decals, different lighting, different goal explosions, and in the end the most effective - and best looking way - to emphasise the wheels was to go for the simple black and white.

I’m going to make what I think looks good, irrespective of how complex, how basic, or how original the process is, and valuing those things ahead of the appearance of the end product itself just misses the point of design entirely.

@OceanicFeeling right, but not only is it simple, it’s also been used a thousand times. And even if you don’t care about respect, it still needs to be had for others. We all have to live according to the laws in our country right? And according to our parents (at a younger age) right? We may not like speed limits, or the fact that we can’t just take someone’s possessions, (like stealing bad designs) but we have to abide by the law and put it into practice.

@Jordan_Robles sure, but not when the ‘laws’ in question are more just the beliefs and values of a cliquey group of gatekeepers - a small percentage of people who use this app who somehow believe they own and govern it. I don’t enter into a country when I choose to use this tool. I was happy just making designs for myself.

@OceanicFeeling ok well when we all have to see your (not even your) design it’s no longer FOR yourself, but ABOUT yourself. And it’s not that we don’t like people trying to find their way in this design world, it’s that we don’t like seeing people doing the same thing over and over again. It’s like if some random person copied golden hour and changed two words then got famous off of it, or if someone took The Incredibles and named it “The Incredulous” then they got famous for it.

@Jordan_Robles look, you keep saying ‘we,’ but you don’t seem to realise that this ‘we’ is a small number of you - illustrated by the fact that this design could have gotten design of the day in the first place: it’s right in front of you that most people using this app don’t share your niche values. And why should designers and voters have to somehow accommodate for the fact that this small group of people have already seen this design and they’re bored of it? This is a public forum.

This app would honestly be so much better if there was an option to make designs public or private, so people like @OceanicFeeling can be differentiated from people who copy designs and stuff. All the big designers will be at ease knowing anybody copying their designs doesn't have much of an argument, and normal people who just want to make designs won't be harassed for copying and boosting and that type of thing. Also we could finally see if that VEN0M guy is legit or not lol

@Dribszz It’s not that hard to come up with an original design (not a knock to Ocean, his design is clean). The best way to go about it in my opinion is by connecting colors in items, and blending them together to create a seamless design.

It’s true bro, you see all these other people hating on designs, it’s just not right. ig it’s basically the same as remixes of songs, they are the same songs but slightly different! actually no, it’s like a cover of a song, people re-sing a famous song and get streams and plays and shit from it, no body questions the fact that it’s a re-used. it’s the same principle for car designs, it may be the same but it’s by someone different, so why hat on it if there is a chance that you have done it before. just realised how long that is lol 😂

I did play around with a few, and some of them looked alright, but in the end, the simplest was the most effective and best looking.
