The Auriga Series Is Here!
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a ‘proper’ new item series released, but last night saw the release of the all-new Auriga series!
The headline battle-car body for this one is the Dingo, based on the Octane hitbox. Dingo looks a little like a flattened, angrier Fennec, with many people on social media comparing it to an older Nissan Skyline. All paints are available for the Dingo, and it's available in Auriga series drops in game right now.
As standard, the Dingo comes with Dots, Flames, Stripes, and Wings decals. Also available are Silencer, Huntress, Figurator and Rascal Stripes decals, all created specifically for the Dingo. You'll need to find or trade for these separately though.
On the subject of decals, the new series also includes four new global decals. Framework and Meteoroid fall into the Import tier, whilst the animated Humid Haze decal is an Exotic.
The one most people will be interested in though is the Black Market Encryption decal. It's almost a cross between the WIP decal released earlier this year, and the Binary trail, with binary 1's and 0's appearing as an overlay on the car. This one might be a bit of an acquired taste, but looks cool and could potentially fit a Matrix-themed car very well. It's available in all paint colours, although arguably the best looking option is unpainted. We'll leave you to decide that one though.
In the world of wheels, we have five new additions in the form of Astro-CSX, Dey KC, Glitch, Anthesis, and Nucleon Clutch. The first four are classed as Very Rare by default, although the first three all have special editions available with increased rarities. Astro-CSX: Inverted achieve Exotic rarity, whilst Dey KC: Schematized and Glitch: Glitched come in as Import rarity. Nucleon Clutch is part of the Import Tier.
In terms of boosts there’s just one addition in the form of Incantor, an Import Rocket Boost. Once again, it's available in all paints and looks great, although it may not rank amongst the best Rocket League boosts that are available to date.
There's also a couple of random new items being added to the mix. The Ombre decal for the Peregrine TT has been added to the game, as has the Distortion decal for Dominus. This was previously available for the Dominus GT, but as one of our favourite cars, it's always nice to see the vanilla Dominus get some love. HNY isn't just limited to wheels now, either! A rare player banner with the same name has been added to the game, featuring a bee's nest and animated bees.
Last but definitely not least, to the goal explosion! You may have already spotted this one in the official Rocket League blog post, but the Auriga series brings with it the great looking Inamorata goal explosion. This one sees large bubbles emit from the goal, eventually popping. It's not the most notable goal explosion ever, but we love a Black Market item, and could be a great option for those looking for a more subtle explosion.
If you don't want to wait for blueprint drops or trade for the items, Psyonix's official blog post stated that some of these items will be coming to the item shop, and I'd hazard a guess that you won't have to wait too long to see them. Don't forget you can check the daily shop rotations on our Rocket League Item Shop page, and if you make any purchases you could use the creator code RLGARAGE. As an #EpicPartner, RLG will send a small cut of any purchases that you make using it, which will help to fund ongoing development.
So what do you think, what do you make of the Auriga series? Will you be giving the Dingo a go, or maybe the Inamorata goal explosion? Let us know down below in the comments.
