Supersonic Fury DLC

10 years ago by QuestFerret in DLC

We knew it was coming soon, but now we know much more about Rocket League's first DLC pack, Supersonic Fury.

As expected the pack contains a selection of customisation options, but we didn't expect it to be quite so big, and we didn't expect it to come with additional PSN trophies and Steam achievements either. The new pack will contain two bodies, two new boosts, two new wheel sets and five paint types.

Bodies

We knew about both of these already, but thanks to Psyonix's post on the Playstation Blog, we now have screenshots and names to go along with the previously released concept renders [One] [Two]. The new bodies are named Dominus and Takumi, Dominus being inspired by American muscle cars, while Takumi is based on Japanese street cars. Both come with a set of 6 liveries to choose from, much like the other bodies in the game.

Boosts

The two new boosts are named Nitrous and Burnout. Both appear to be visible in the above images. Burnout seems to have a thick grey smoke look, whilst Nitrous involves a dense flame trail followed by heavy black smoke. This is pure speculation, and it could just be made clearer in the images, but don't those boosts look a bit larger than normal?

Wheels

Onto the wheels, where there are going to be two new variations for you to choose from. Cristiano is based on the classic soccer ball design, meaning solid alloys with embossed hexagons. Perhaps more exciting, though, is 'Spinner,' fully functional spinner rims which will keep spinning even after you stop.

Paints

The five new paints include brushed metal, carbon fibre, metallic pearl, pearlescent and wood, all of which will be welcome additions to the game

Additional Content

Alongside the Supersonic Fury DLC, the game will also receive an update to include a host of new and long-awaited features. The community (us included) has been calling for spectator mode since release, and it's coming. It will allow you to watch live games in real time from any angle you like.

Also coming is the free Utopia Coliseum map (for more, read our article on it), 70 new country flags, updated explosion animations when goals are scored and on demolitions, and a brand new song from Hollywood Principle

When, and how much?

Supersonic Fury will be released in 'early August' (sorry, that's all Psyonix have said) at a cost of $3.99 or your local equivalent. The bodies, boosts, wheels and paints will be exclusive for those who purchase the DLC, but everything else will be free for all as part of the update.

Games Amazing!

The DLC is worth getting & the paint types are considerably and

large improvement from the default paint types.

Not to mention the car bodies are well worth as they come

with their own custom decals. I prefer the Dominus while

the Takumi is still a great car.

Can't wait for more DLC's
