Soon after Psyonix's acquisition by Epic Games, Rocket League adopted a platform linking system with Epic Games at its core. Cross-platform progression became possible by connecting all of your console accounts to your Epic Games account.

As most of you know, an Epic Games account is now a requirement to trade in Rocket League. As a result, we decided to implement a comparable account linking system for RL Garage. It's no secret that linking platforms on RL Garage has been a bit of a clumsy process. That changes today.

With today's update (2.3.0 on mobile), we have streamlined the entire platform linking process. You can now link all of your platforms to your RL Garage profile through your Epic Games account, as long as you have them connected on the official Rocket League account linking page. This new system makes platform linking significantly easier and more reliable than before, which we hope helps new users get into the trading scene quicker.

This change also adds much better verification for Nintendo Switch accounts, which will hopefully put an end to a lot of Switch scammers.

Users who already linked their accounts before this change don't have to do anything. You can continue to use RL Garage as usual without chaning your settings.

To get started, simply sign in with your Epic Games account from the platform settings page. Your connected platforms will automatically be populated and saved to your RL Garage profile, ready for you to use for trading.

If you haven't already, be sure to connect all of your relevant platforms on the official Rocket League account linking page. This step is required in order to get your platforms linked on RL Garage.

Of course, if you already have your platforms linked to your RL Garage profile, there are no changes necessary from you. Your linked platforms will continue to work as before.

If your Epic account has platforms linked you don't want others to see on RL Garage you can hide those. Just scroll down on your platform settings to find a section to either show or hide every connected platform. Keep in mind that you can't create trades on hidden platforms.

In the world of Rocket League trading, phishing attacks are sadly far too common. A phishing attack is when a scammer sends you a link in order to get you to sign in with one of your accounts. At first glance, the link may appear to be legitimate, but in reality, your login information is stolen by the scammer and you lose access to your account. You can never be too careful when it comes to protecting yourself and your online accounts.

RL Garage uses the official Epic Games authentication API to process the sign in request. That means your password, and any other sensitive information related to your Epic Games account, is not shared with us.

It's the same secure sign in method we used for the old platform linking system, and we will continue to use it for this new platform linking system.

You can verify the legitimacy of the login yourself by double-checking that the URL matches the official Epic Games website.

If you encounter problems while linking your Epic account (like getting an error that says you didn't play enough Rocket League) please make sure that you've linked all your PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or Steam accounts to your Epic account on the official linking page and set the primary platform to the platform you play on primarly.
