Shalthis Says: Why EU is Better Than NA
It can be hard to hear sometimes, but why is EU better than NA when it comes to Rocket League regions? Is it play time? No, because an NA team can play loads more than a comparable EU opponent and still lose. There are 3 things that I’ve noticed: playstyle, the X-factor, and competition.
First, let’s talk about playstyle. European players love to be aggressive and commit 2 or 3 cars to an offensive play. They cover their opponent’s side of the pitch and quickly respond to rebounds and clear attempts. Successful teams can punish this and can be on the lookout for overcommits or mistakes. On NA, it’s about the team game. NA players are great with positioning and offensive strategy.
The second aspect is the X-factor. It’s the biggest reason that there is separation of the EU teams. Sometimes, a player or a team is just really good, if not the best at what they do. That’s why certain players or teams are consistently on top. You see the same thing in every region, obviously. The third factor, competition, goes hand-in-hand with the X-factor. Not only does Europe have more competition than NA, it has better competition.
In EU, the players are naturally better and spend a lot of time in competitive tournaments which forces the players around them – teammates and opponents alike – to try and play better and experiment a little more to try and beat their competition. NA players rarely face that sort of competition and when they do, they start to evolve the way European players do, but it happens much more frequently on the European side.
Those are the factors that I’ve noticed separate the EU from the rest of the world in Rocket League. I want to know, in the comments, what you have noticed and if one region is better than another at this game.
