You can save 100-150ish bucks building it, it allows you to spend the money on better hardware and also help you get more comfortable servicing your own pc. 3. Which games do you want to play at what performance? Watch benchmark videos, that gets you into the ballpark of the hardware you need. 4. Used vs brand new hardware; I don't have any experience with that, but see if you can get some hardware used, saves some money as well. Always! buy a name brand, new powersupply, if you find used storage, check their CrystalDiskMark scores. Get a used monitor, ideally with receipt so you can RMA it just in case. 27 inch is a decent sweet spot, make sure it's not a TN panel, they suck.
