How to improve as d1?

So when i am in a match and i try to do a mechanic or a flick it never works out. If i start practicing directional airroll is it then easier to do tricks and mechs? Please leave a feedback and maybe some tips on how i can improve im diamond 1 btw.

switch to directional as soon as possible. You don’t need great mechs til high champ or gc

I made it to d1 yesterday (not anymore) all I did was dribble and have good game sense. Some can air dribble but it's no match for my massive knowledge 🌚🌚
