RC Car Dominus

Hi guys, thats my first discussion btw. I have 2 RC cars. Both are Not working. And Im making a RC car that is super fast and cool and with lights and smoke and all the other cool things. The Best is IT WILL LOOK LIKE DOMINUS!!! Thats my biggest project. But look at the pictures. The base is almost ready and I tested it. Its working! I will post more discussions about the car. If you have suggestions please let me know. and I need to make a sculpture of the dominus. What material should I use? I will "coat" the sculpture with hot plastic. but I dont know wich material is the best. PS: I dont have all these high-tech stuff but I dont need it๐Ÿ˜‰ And yes my workplace is a big mess๐Ÿ˜…

Use fibreglass not hard to make and solid af and you can sculpt it into what ever you like plus itโ€™s dead cheap and easy to paint

Once you have the body finished maybe you could make paint a decal on it or something, idk just an idea. But we need more stuff like this on this app

I can still see most of the desk, it's not as messy as mine, don't worry. Cool project, I'd think 3D printing a Dominus shell would make the most sense. There is probably a maker space nearby who can help you out with that.

@MisterMelone Neat, if they have an SLA printer see if ABS-like resin is available, the default resin can be kinda brittle especially when you might bump into something since you're building a car.

@MisterMelone No 100% sure what you mean by "special plastic form" but both specialized fillaments and resins can get pretty expensive, if your friend has an FDM printer, ABS fillament probably makes the most sense unless they have something else readily available.

@MisterMelone I donโ€™t know if this could work but you could use a more flexible softer resin on the outside so it absorbs some of the impact. Just an idea.

no this is not a dumb question. I had 2 Rc cars. Both were not working i took a base from the first one, took the bigger Motor drom the other one removed almost everything and mixed everything together i only chose the Best parts. And there were some damages i could fix them. But everything else im building from scratch

Cool project! Are you using a pre built RC car base, or are you building and programming from scratch?
