Bug
Fortnite crossover items and Legacy items

With some items being available in Fortnite, trading items in has been a problem. For context, I keep every item I get, unless it’s a duplicate.

As many of you know, players who bought Rocket League before Free to Play got all the Legacy items to their account. Most of these items however you could get after Free to Play from opening drops. Some of these items are available in Fortnite. So, unless it’s a duplicate, it cannot be traded in. But the issue is, whenever I get some of these items from drops (Examples: Masamune body, Ion rocket boost, Sandstorm rocket boost) it doesn’t allow me to trade them in, even though I already have these items through my legacy account. This bugs me a lot and I just want to get rid of these duplicates.

Lots of Legacy players (like me), are dealing with the same issue. The problem is that the game doesn’t properly recognize when a duplicate comes from a drop if you already have the Legacy version, so it flags both as non-tradeable and not eligible for trade-ins. It’s a really annoying system flaw, especially when it clutters your inventory with items you can’t even use or get rid of. Best thing to do is submit a ticket to Psyonix support and explain the situation—they might not fix it right away, but the more people report it, the more likely they’ll do something about it.
