I think they removed trading because their clearly worse shop was suffering. Pretty dystopian to push your option and end a much better one because you are the owner. Another reason might be that they are trying to launch a system owned and controlled by them (i.e. a marketplace). This is a bit dystopian too, since they seek to copy and kill what others have already been doing.

Pretty sure the main reason they removed trading is cause of Fortnite’s new feature of everything you have in your inventory will get transferred to Fortnite (such as painted cars, decals, wheels, antennas, and probably boosts) as they saw trading will make them lose money they removed trading to make players to actually buy credits and buy from the item shop instead of going to trading which is cheaper.
