Personally, I would just say, either try to visualise an idea in your mind, then replicate it as closely as you can with whats available, or, pick an item like a wheel or a car, and build around that one item, matching everything else to its style. 100% look at other people's designs to see what kind of things are possible, being careful not to rip off their ideas in the process 😉👍
