@Raiyu Firstly, if people have made similar designs in the past, then clearly that’s because the idea makes sense and will inevitably be done. The first person to do it doesn’t somehow get intellectual ownership over the idea. It doesn’t mean it’s copying. Copying would be me seeing someone’s design and replicating it. I hadn’t seen any, and I’m not about sit there and verify that each of my designs are 100% unique and new. I don’t need to. I’m not here to appease the ‘design community.’ I’m here to make designs which I myself like, and you can keep your cliquey rules to yourself.

The only thing you could possibly be referencing is me suggesting to @Dudebr0 to check out the updated version of the design, because it seemed they liked it and I thought it would interest them. Putting aside technicality and ‘rules’, are you seriously - as a human - suggesting that this is in any way weird or wrong, or that suggesting to one person to check a design somehow constitutes boosting?

@misujmecheru I’m not saying that’s a bad thing either, don’t get me wrong. It’s very impressive and I love seeing how creative people can get with these limited tools. What I do have a problem with is the gatekeeping and pretension I’ve seen from a lot of people on this site.

@Hthegreat_IN No, it’s not technically copying. Copying implies intent and an awareness of that which I’m copying in the first place. And even if we said I had seen some similar design, where do you draw the line between inspiration and mimicry? No one - in any artistic medium - can say they haven’t been affected or inspired by other works.

@Hthegreat_IN Honestly, I’d say go for it, and I’d enjoy the shared enthusiasm and discourse. There have already been some near identical designs to this one above and I’m happy to see even those and the changes they’ve made. But I can see how people who define themselves entirely by their designs can get insecure over someone copying them.

It’s basic, but that doesn’t necessarily make something any less aesthetically appealing. I’d sooner upvote a design that actually looks nice and than one which incorporates ‘Rolypoly’ wheels in an interesting way.

That said, yes I really liked Rayzr’s design. Sorry you’re disappointed - I don’t care about DOTD

@ChappyDaBoi3 I like the TW Lightspeed idea, but I’m thinking maybe Ion Red for boost, to mimic the light effect of Huntress. There’s probably something more suitable, but I don’t have the knowledge of what’s out there.
