Upcoming free DLC: Utopia Coliseum

10 years ago by serubi in DLC

Psyonix has officially announced the new free "Utopia Coliseum" map DLC pack, which will be released "in a few weeks" -Psyonix. The map is inspired by one of the original maps from Rocket League's prequel "Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars" (SARPBC).

The original map was called Utopia and was a circular arena. This required a new set of skills unique to the map, which can't be applied to any regular arena.

In the upcoming Utopia Coliseum map, Psyonix has decided to keep the regular arena shape that we all know, but they still keep the original Utopia design traits.

Overall, the map is definitely beautiful to look at and certainly worth a download. A lot of Rocket League players suggested that Psyonix should keep the original circular shape, but Psyonix had already begun modeling the map, hence why they kept the regular square shape. Psyonix says, that if there is enough demand, they will consider publishing irregular shaped maps.

The DLC pack is said to be released in a few weeks along with the (paid) Supersonic Fury DLC pack, which includes two new vehicles. We have talked about it in our previous article.

Although many are wishing the map kept its circular shape, we can't complain with free quality content. We, here at rocket-league.com, truly appreciate your hard work and dedication, Psyonix. Thanks!

Utopia was by far my favourite map on SARPBC. Hopefully they'll start with irregular shaped maps.
