The BMW M240i is Here
It’s been a while since an all-new car brand was introduced to Rocket league, but today sees BMW, one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, joining the Rocket League Roster.
The BMW chosen to represent them on the field is the M240i, the all new 369 horsepower coupe scheduled for release in 2022. The Rocket League version is based on the Dominus hitbox and looks pretty great.
Perhaps the biggest thing in the BMW’s favour is the fact that you can use the majority of customisation options on it. With a few exceptions, you can equip any items you like to the M240i, the only limitation being that you’re not able to use any other licensed DLC. That means you won’t be able to use anything relating to real life brands, but you will be able to use standard items like, say, the Interstellar decal or an Alpha Cap, should you want to.
Alongside the body, there’s a few other items being released today too. First up are the BMW M240i wheels, based on those that the car is set to be delivered with in real life, and as always, there’s a BMW engine audio to go with the body too. It also ships with two exclusive decals, which are the brilliantly named Thundernight Metallic, and United in Rivalry.
Thundernight Metallic is a purple decal that resembles one of the paint options that BMW offer for the vehicle, and along with sounding great, it’s a gorgeous colour too. The United in Rivalry decal though is a little more unique, being both animated and dynamically coloured. By default, the flames on the decal are orange, but while going supersonic they change to bright green. It’s great that Psyonix are mixing things up and adding more advanced decals to the game, but this particular one feels like it might not see much use.
Also included in the bundle is Bavarian Hat topper, which looks interesting although may not be a first pick for many, and there’s a BMW player banner too, if you’re into that sort of thing.
The full bundle comes in at 1100 credits which is roughly in line with other recent bundles, slightly more than a couple of the summer re-releases, but more acceptable than some other real world bundles like the Ford F150 or Lamborghini bodies from earlier in the year.
It’s available from today, November 4th, through to November 10th 2021, so as always, get in quickly if you want to experience German reliability and Sheer Driving Pleasure on the pitch, or whatever BWM’s slogan is these days.
If you buy the bundle, then please consider using the creator code RLGARAGE. As an Epic Partner RLG will receive a small cut of whatever you spend at absolutely no cost to you.
So what do you make of the BMW? It’s perhaps not quite the Aston Martin Valhalla, but the increased range of customisations should make it a popular pick-up. I’ll personally be adding it to my collection, but as per usual, you’ll have to decide for yourself if it’s worth it. Let me know down in the comments.
If the community begs for it enough, Epic Games and Psyonix might bring it back! Maybe, even a new model of a BMW! ;P
