Rocket League Hoops

So far we know very little, but it looks like basketball is coming to Rocket League!

March Madness is just around the corner. Great time to tease the mode we're working on next #RocketLeagueHoops pic.twitter.com/rrlEnnFhby

This tweet is all we have to go on, but it seems we'll be getting a new indoor-arena style map with basketball inspired goals (or should that be nets? It's hard to decide. Let's call them noals). Each end of the court has a circular noal  against a backboard, so before long you'll quite literally be able to dunk on people in Rocket League!

Given the almost certain need to take to the air to score goals, this could bring out some fantastic aerial plays. Shalthis tweeted this morning that we'll be seeing a Summer Showdown based on the new mode later this year. We'll be awaiting that with bated breath, because the prospect of forcing pro players to take their plays into the air is incredibly exciting.

Whether this will be part of Rocket Labs or a standalone addition like Snow Day was remains to be seen, but either way, this looks like it will be great fun and we can't wait to both play and watch it.

If you're not good at Aerials, I smaller hitboxed rides like Gizmo and similar shaped cars launch the ball at almost a perfect angle when you hit a grounder head-on :) But seriously, practice your Aerials!
