RLCS Open Qualifier 2 Wrap-Up

10 years ago by QuestFerret in Esports

Over the course of the past weekend 64 teams were whittled down to just 12 in the RLCS Open Qualifier. It's been a great weekend for Rocket League and we've seen some incredible matches, but these are the teams who will ultimately be moving on to play in the RLCS Group Stages over the next two weekends.

North America

Exodus (formerly VexX / Turbuence) Mockit eSports NA Genesis Lucky Bounce Selfless Retrospect (Formerly Onslaught)

These six teams will join the pre-qualified iBUYPOWER Cosmic and Kings of Urban. Despite hundreds of games taking place 7 of the 8 teams from the first group stage will be returning for this one. Of the original eight it's only Orbit who won't return to the battle ground having disbanded, and they will be replaced by a very solid Lucky Bounce side who we look forward to seeing in action.

Europe

Mockit eSports EU Comrade Gaming Supersonic Avengers The Flying Dutchmen Shoot N Goal Aeriality

Unlike North America, the European qualifier was filled with surprises today. One of the online finalists from qualifier one, KA-POW, failed to make the second group stage at all, and a further three failed to qualify a second time. This time we'll be seeing The Supersonic Avengers, Comrade Gaming, Shoot N Goal and Aeriality in place of KA-POW, Team Solid, Precision Z and Eff0rt. They'll all be joining the pre-qualified FlipSid3 Tactics and We Dem Girlz next weekend to commence the group stage play.

The Schedule

The RLCS will continue next weekend with the first half of the group stages. Although the times are yet to be announced we'd think it's relatively safe to assume we'll see the same schedule used as this weekend. This means the North American matches will likely kick off at 12pm PDT / 3pm EDT / 7pm GMT / 8pm BST / 9pm CEST on Saturday, and the European matches on Sunday at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 4pm GMT / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST. Follow @RLCS on Twitter for all the latest updates so that you'll be the first to know when the times are officially announced.
