Insomnia 58

8 years ago by QuestFerret in Rocket League News

For those of you around the Rocket League scene back in March, you may remember that there was a big Rocket League LAN event at Insomnia 57, the 57th iteration of the UK's largest gaming festival. Both Gregan and I (QuestFerret) were there to witness some of the action first hand, and it was a truly fantastic event for all gamers with Rocket League at every turn.

Anyway, time has rolled on and it's nearly time for Insomnia 58, which looks set to be bigger and better. The first improvement will be the casting. Gregan's great, but add Shogun and JohnnyBoi into the mix and the event will be better than ever before. The prize pool for the LAN is once again a huge £3000, with £1500 going to the winner, plus prizes for 2nd, 3rd and 4th too. With the final in an improved prime-time slot on Saturday evening and daily Rocket League tournaments with cash prizes, there are more chances to compete and more chances to win.

If you want to participate in the LAN there's an open qualifier this weekend that gives you and your team the chance to win three BYOC tickets to the event. They usually sell for £99 so if you've got some Rocket League skills you could save yourself a good amount of money and have a shot at a slice of the prize pool. Last time around I Am A Tree's Sector One side won the qualifier and went on to win the LAN itself.

Of course it's not just Rocket League. From popular streamers to game demos, card games to PC hardware, Insomnia offers something for everybody, and if you're in the UK and free over the bank holiday weekend it's well worth a look.
