Insomnia 57 Gaming Festival
If you live in the UK, you may have heard of Insomnia, a series of gaming festivals ran by Multiplay. Last time out at Insomnia 56 they held a big BYOC (bring your own computer) LAN Rocket League tournament, but despite a sizable prize pool not many people in the RL scene knew it existed. As we love the idea of a Rocket League being on one of the biggest stages available we thought we'd highlight the event in the hopes that the next might get the attention it deserves.
Insomnia 57 promises to be bigger and better than Insomnia 56. Once again, it will be held at the Birmingham NEC (one of the largest conference centres in the country) and Rocket League looks set to get some serious attention there.
So far there are six games featured in tournaments at the event, and one of them is Rocket League. The prize? A cool £3000 (equivalent of more than $4300 at the time of writing). The tournament will take place across three days (25th - 27th March) and is open to anybody with a BYOC ticket to the event. If you're interested in some large scale PC gaming, this could be the event for you! If the previous festival is anything to go by, matches will be casted live in front of a live audience on the eSports stage by a team of dedicated casters.
Want to get a shot at the £1500 top prize without paying for entry? Well, there's good news for you. On 27th February there will be an open 3v3 tournament which will allow you and your team the opportunity to win BYOC tickets to the event! They usually cost £57 per person for the weekend, so that's a saving of £171 in total if your team wins. There are only 16 teams signed up at the moment so if you've got a good Rocket League team. you've got a good shot at free entry to the UK's biggest gaming festival.
