Frosty Fest '21
It's the most wonderful time of the year - Christmas is just around the corner and that means it's time for the return of an old favourite, Frosty Fest!
With Frosty Fest comes a host of challenges to unlock Winter-themed items, including new wheels, decals, and a paint finish. There's also my personal favourite, the Abominable Throwman title. Even if you don't get around to completing any of the challenges, there's a free item on the store throughout Frosty Fest, the Ski-Free Player Banner.
Also set to return, thankfully, are Golden Gifts! After Golden Pumpkins were absent from this year's Haunted Hallows event, it was touch-and-go for a while as to whether or not they'd return. Thankfully though, they're back, and possibly better than ever.
The Golden Gift '21 Drop has the possibility to drop items from the Zephyr, Elevation, and Vindicator Series, which means that there are potentially some incredible items available. The highlights of these series include the Mainframe and Firegod Black Market decals, as well as the Singularity and Solar Flare goal explosions. There are plenty of other items on offer too though, with all rarities from rares all the way through to black markets.
You can try all new Frosty Fest items in the RL Garage Car Designer starting now! To celebrate Frosty Fest here at RL Garage, we enabled all snow maps on the Car Designer for everyone!
As I learned in a recent video on the RL Garage YouTube channel, the odds of receiving Black Market items from Golden Gifts is low. Estimates from users on the RL Garage Discord put them at around 1 in 50, so don't automatically expect that you'll receive amazing items.
If you'd rather guaranteed credits, Golden Gift '21 drops are tradable, and gifts from previous years have commanded a price of 50-100 credits over the holidays. Older Golden Gifts are now worth around 200 credits, so if you're willing to hold onto them for a little longer, you might be able to make a little extra profit.
Along with all the new items, Beckwith Park is also receiving a frosty makeover this Holiday Season. The new variant of the classic arena will be available in all game modes throughout Frosty Fest, including ranked, unranked, and private matches.
To round out the Frosty Fest event, some great Limited Time Modes are set to return this year, coming in the form of Winter Breakaway and Spike Rush! Winter Breakaway takes place on a winter version of the non-standard Throwback Stadium, and features a hockey puck rather than a ball for great winter fun. Spike Rush meanwhile is similar to a cross between Rumble and Gridiron - you'll be able to pick up the ball with spikes from your car, but whilst holding it you won't be able to boost. To take away possession, other players must "tackle" you to spike the ball for themselves. It all sounds like good fun!
Frosty Fest starts today, Thursday December 16th, and looks like it'll run until January 3rd, judging by the end date of the Spike Rush Limited Time Mode. Make sure you earn those Golden Gifts and complete the challenges for the new items while you can!
