The Nissan Skyline Is Back!
Update 17th June: It's available now! Don't forget to use creator code RLGARAGE #EpicPartner
The comments on our recent articles have given us a feeling that people really wanted to see the Nissan Skyline return. In fact, having ran some back-of-napkin maths, over 5% of comments since the start of March have included the word Skyline. I think it’s safe to say that there’s some demand.
Well, good news! Psyonix announced last night that the Skyline and Dodge Charger would be returning to celebrate the release of Fast and Furious 9, the latest installment of the Fast franchise. The new bundle features three vehicles, with a brand new body entering the fray alongside the two old favourites.
Sporting the hybrid hitbox, the Skyline represents Brian O'Conner’s Nissan Skyline from the earlier films in the franchise. It comes with two sets of Nissan Skyline wheels in standard and black painted variants, and the following decals:2Bold 2Cool 2Tuff Clean Cut Home Stretch The Clutch Reel Life
Dom Toretto’s Dodge Charger uses the Dominus hitbox. Once again, it comes with standard and black painted Dodge Charger wheels, and offers the following decals:Alameda Twin Flames Good Graces Rally Sinclair Wheelman Reel Life
Brand new from Fast 9, the Pontiac Fiero uses the Hybrid Hitbox and represents the heavily modified version that appears in the film. You guessed it, it comes with standard and black painted Pontiac Fiero wheels, and the following decals are available:Flames Stripes Circuit Pro Wings Lightning Reel Life
Items associated with specific bodies are only available for that car. You won't be able to use the Charger wheels on any other body, but it seems like you'll be able to use any non-branded customisation items on each of the three bodies.
The three cars and their associated items will be available from June 17th for a limited time with a price tag of a cool 2400 credits. If you only want one of the cars, then you’ll be able to purchase them individually for 1000 credits each.
If you bought either of the two returning bodies back in the day, an upgrade bundle will also be available for the Skyline and Charger. This will allow you to add the new wheels and decals to your collection for 300 credits per car.
Going to buy one or more of the bundles? Maybe we could persuade you to use our creator code, RLGARAGE. RLG is an #EpicPartner and any purchases made ingame using it will earn us a small percentage of your order value, which will help us to fund ongoing development of the site and app.
Not looking to spend any credits? As per usual there's still a way to get some Fast and Furious content in your Rocket League life. Whilst the main bundle is available, head over to the free tab on the item store and you’ll be able to get a “Tuna, No Crust” player title for no cost!
