Creator's Garages: Athena
Yesterday evening Psyonix announced that they're kicking off a brand new concept of Creator's Garages. Starting with popular content creator Athena, these garages will come in the form of limited time bundles which contain a creator’s favourite items, hand selected to create a co-ordinated car loadout.
Athena’s gone with some excellent orange and monochrome themed picks, starting with the trusty and reliable Octane, painted orange. Her decal of choice is Shisha, which carries the scorer certification. Whilst it wouldn’t be my first choice personally, the combination does actually look really good, particularly when you’re on the blue team.
Underneath the car, her Octane is rolling on black Yamane wheels, which despite being relatively cost effective at an average price around 400 credits, look incredibly clean and set off the orange highlights well.
In terms of boost, the orange theme continues as Athena has picked the Standard boost in, well, orange. Despite being called Standard, this remains one of our favourite boosts, it’s really clean and works with basically any loadout. The colour scheme works especially well here, though.
The trail is where things start to get really interesting, as the first of two shop-exclusive items. Trailing behind Athena’s design is the luminous trail in Titanium White which we’ve only seen on the in-game item store, and that was way back on December 26th last year.
Last but not least, the goal explosion. Dueling Dragons is always a great explosion, regardless of colour, but this bundle has it in titanium white. Again, this one has always been item shop exclusive, and we’ve only seen it appear once as a featured item last August. Last time it cost 2500 credits by itself, so you might be pleasantly surprised to hear that this entire bundle costs just 2000 credits.
Using RL Insider’s PC prices for the tradable items and previous prices for the shop exclusive items, the total value in this bundle comes to approximately 4000-4500 credits. If you want everything in the bundle then obviously it represents exceptional value. You do have to remember that items in bundles on the item shop aren’t tradable though, so make sure you want enough of it to make the purchase worth it.
On the subject of purchasing, maybe consider using our creator code if you buy the bundle, which is RLGARAGE. As an Epic Partner, RLG will receive a small cut of any purchases made using it, which will help to fund ongoing development.
If you want to find out more about Athena (who also has a creator code - ATHENAART), why not check out her Twitter, Twitch, or YouTube profiles.
It sounds like Psyonix have more of these planned, so keep an eye out for future bundles from other great creators, too!
No cap, it would drop dramatically. Look at what happened to the TW Fennec with The Nissan Skyline.
Is your common sense on holiday? If the octane came in the shop it would drop not rise. You born under a rock or something?
