It seems to me that the answer is obvious. If there are many modes you need more online for it to work. After the trade is closed, the online obviously drops, they have to concentrate people in other modes so that the low online is not noticeable

Gotta even out the ranked options, could you imagine how messy that would look if there were 3 options on top and 4 on the bottom ? The irony is that fortnite's game mode selection is a gigantic mess. Also snowday was easily the worst extra mode. It's just terrible

Snowday and trading was my main use of Rocket League. But the problem is that even without it i like the base game. And there is Zerro=NO alternative. All other car-games have alternative, Forza, Assetto, Dirt, CarX, Project Cars, Beam NG etc, there are so many really good games. But Rocket League is unique. I have tried drone racing, but no ball. I have tried FIFA but no car. This crazy game with its hard to learn skills comes with no alternative. So we can cry all we want. I dont think the game will die soon, but something have to pay for the server and for the rich LEGO family. LEGO own a very big chunck of EPIC. And man do they know how to make money.

its all to make more money, when people have all the things they want by trading they remove so people would buy even more credits to buy itemshop items just becuase there 'limited' then when they run out of cool items people dont already have they remove the itemshop so its trading only, then make people pay them credits to trade, therefor earning even more money and so on

RL would be better if they would just stop making all these thanges. why would epic wanna go out of their way yust to make there best game worse

Honestly, Epic is a disgrace to the game in every aspect… Psyonix have created a genuine masterpiece in releasing a game that to this day is still not dead, while tons of other games and esports have been long replaced. But I can’t think of a single decision Epic made on Rocket League that was actually any good. Even on item designs it seems to show: Before Epic buying in, blueprint update etc., items were actually good and original. But over time, that has changed, especially tons of the Rocket Pass items were so bad they didn’t catch anybody‘s interest and everything half decent released from 2020 or so onwards was just a poor variant of a good original item. Dropshot actually used to be my favorite game mode, probably together with like classic 1s, 2s, 3s… With that now being gone from comp, it‘s just another part of the game in the bin. Even if Epic are deliberately trying to kill the game, they‘re excelling at that.

But one thing good about trading remove you don't have to worry about scammers

I’ve argued that they should have open library to buy whatever they want since they killed off trading. Been eyeing the haunted hallow player anthem since last year. only one came back which was "this is halloween" to fit in their nightmare before Christmas theme. bring back trading or open the damn item shop for everything else! killing off trading with limited options in daily item shop is really testing my patience. btw the McQueen bundle was fugly!

Honestly make knockout a permanent mode. It’s a great way to take a break from chasing balls all the time and you can get out all that pent up rage on other players.

I think Epic is trying to get the game from what it was to what it will be, and that takes time. Maybe rather than complaining about it and being sad, we're happy with what we've got and glad the Rocket League is a great game that made our childhood amazing
