Do I deserve a higher rank?

I know I lost, but it was close and I was mvp in a diamond lobby as a silver. I partied up with my teammate in hoops and he queued us for twos. I did not know what rank I was going against. Y’all are probably going to say I’m lying but I legitimately thought it was around a gold two lobby. Is this a normal diamond experience?
