Welcome to the Rocket League Power Rankings!

Each week, our committee will be ranking the best teams based on a variety of criteria as well as providing commentary on the teams who make it into the Top 10. The committee is comprised of players, content creators, fans, analysts, & coordinators to help diversify opinions and come to a general consensus. Each committee member has their own method for determining team rankings (ranging from stat-tracking to instinct), but they only count for a single vote since the individual ranks are averaged together. Each member will also list a team that didn't quite make the Top 10, but they feel is on the rise and should be watched.

While we do our best to ensure that we are fair and impartial, it is important to remember that these are just opinions and will most likely change weekly. If you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions, please send them our way. We’d love to hear from you!

Cosmic Aftershock

Roster: Kronovi, Gibbs, Sadjunior

After a fairly shocking 5-1 loss in the regular season finale of the MLG Pro League, many wondered if that was a sign that Cosmic Aftershock's reign at the top was coming to an end. Just 2 days later, though, they quickly stomped that kind of talk out with a statement win in the ESL September Monthly Finals. Fun Fact: As a full squad, they have never lost an ESL tournament. Looking at their closest competition (Top 5 teams) this week, CA earned 11 wins and received 7 losses. 5 of those wins and 6 of those losses, however, were against close rivals vQ Untethered as they beat Apollo 11 3-0 and Titanium Ricochet 3-1. There is still a clear distinction between the Top 2 teams and everyone else in North America, but the difference between #1 & #2 is negligible as either team is seemingly capable of beating the other depending on the circumstances.

vQ Untethered

Roster: Lachinio, Pluto, Vafele

It shouldn't come as a surprise to see vQ Untethered and CA back into their 1a and 1b spots with CA edging out vQU due to CA taking a 4-1 ESL finals win in the September Monthly Final. We all have this Saturday to look forward to given the chance that these two teams might meet up in the finals for the MLG Pro League. However, I have to say that vQU is probably the most consistent team out there, at least at the highest level. It's hard to say that any one person is better than the other when they are all able to perform incredible aerials, stellar defense and precise teamwork. Speaking of teamwork, something which we all used to praise CA for, I believe that these guys have some of the best synergy out there, their gameplan and style is so concrete - probably one of their strongest attributes. While I do stand by vQU being the most consistent, they still have to show up at their best in order to take out the current #1 Cosmic Aftershock.

Titanium Ricochet

Roster: Cazaz911, Klassux, WaZe_One87

Besides one shaky week for Titanium Ricochet they have played wonderfully. Saturday was a huge day for them. They beat Double Tap, Orange Creamsicle, and Kings of Urban, while only losing to Cosmic Aftershock. Internet and sub issues gave them an early exit in ESL on Sunday but Saturday proved enough to give them the 3rd rank bouncing Kings of Urban from the top 3 for the first time since the power rankings started.

Kings of Urban

Roster: Gambit, Fireburner, ?

After losing to Titanium on Saturday night Kings of Urban made a huge move. They dropped Kyle Masc and have yet to announce a starter. They are looking for their new 3rd to give them a jump start heading into the MLG Playoffs. It will be a tough road having to face Cosmic Aftershock in the first round though. The big mystery is who will be the 3rd starter on Kings of Urban. Their skill is still there we just have to see if a new 3rd sparks new winning strategies out of KOU.

Gibbs

Apollo 11

Roster: Huskih, Dan, Lars, Azi

This high-flying group of new players continues soaring to new heights as they keep steadily moving up in the Power Rankings. Aside from a clean sweep loss to vQ Untethered in the Finals of ESL Cup #10, they have looked fairly dominant over the past couple of weeks. They took out Supernova (Gibbs' team to watch), dismantled Terrifying Turtle Squad (newcomers to the Power Rankings / previously known as Team Meme) and managed to capture a close win against another up-and-coming squad Look Ma, No Boost. At this point, the only thing they are lacking is a quality win against a Top 4 team, so for now they'll have to settle for #5 in this week's Power Rankings.

CloudFuel

Orange Creamsicle

Roster: Edwind, Quinn Lobdell, ?

Personally, I ranked Orange Creamsicle much lower than my 2 other committee members. The reason being we have not seen them play with their full roster in a while. This past weekend they played with super sub Doomsee on Saturday and Stoney on Sunday. Honestly, I'm not sure what they are doing for a 3rd player right now and until I see a full roster it will be hard to put them any higher up.

Gibbs

Perfect Storm

Roster: UsedWolf, Jacob, Elmirfudd

We haven't seen much from this squad this week, yet what little we have seen is far from perfect. They have seemingly been in their own personal storm of underachievement recently as they have continued to slip from the #4 spot they recently held. There are rumors of a split-up coming, but until that is proven to be true, the expectations are still fairly high for this team of all post-SARPBC players.

CloudFuel

Double Tap

Roster: Jamesbot, Flow, Sir PancakeIII

Double Tap is a group of ballsy players that live Rocket League a quarter mile at a time. I've had the pleasure of playing with and against the members of this squad for a while, and I've got to say that I've always been impressed with their overall skill and in game tenacity. Although Double Tap has fallen back a few positions it doesn't take anything away from their true potential, it's just the fact that others have nudged them out. Due to Sunday's performance it's still clear that we need to keep them up in our top 10, but I don't blame them for tapping out early against an Orange Creamsicle with the Aussie Stoney subbing in. It will take some more practice for Double Tap to get into true form, but if their early rise into competitive Rocket League is anything to say, it won't take very long.

DeVoid Gaming

Roster: zOctanez, TvLow5ive, cougycougs, FicklePlatypus

Unfortunately, this team has been on a slow and steady descent in the power rankings. While they have recently shown flashes of their potential, like taking Orange Creamsicle (with super EU sub Doomsee) to a game 5, they've also had some poor showings, like an 0-12 sweep from Flipsid3 Tactics & Swarm Gaming to end their season in the MLG Pro League. Their squad also seems to be in a constant state of flux due to CougyCougs' schedule. It's not yet known whether this squad will be adding an additional member, but I do feel confident in the ability of Low5ive & zOctanez to bounce back with some quality wins and re-insert themselves into the conversation.

CloudFuel

Terrifying Turtle Squad

Roster: Eveh, p3rf3ct0, Sinta Claws

The new best name in eSports, Terrifying Turtle Squad showed up on Sunday with a new name and a new mission. They had a great run into the ESL Semi-Finals by beating Perfect Storm with Markydooda as their sub. They wound up losing 6 straight games to Apollo 11 and Creamsicle (w/ Stoney) after that to finish 4th. They have shown they belong in the Top 10. Now they have a mountain to climb to move up any further. This team is going places, solely based on the name alone; I'm a fan. ;)
