eu Power Rankings {10/12/15 - 10/19/15}

Welcome to the Rocket League Power Rankings!

Each week, our committee will be ranking the best teams based on a variety of criteria as well as providing commentary on the teams who make it into the Top 10. The committee is comprised of players, content creators, fans, analysts, & coordinators to help diversify opinions and come to a general consensus. Each committee member has their own method for determining team rankings (ranging from stat-tracking to instinct), but they only count for a single vote since the individual ranks are averaged together. Each member will also list a team that didn't quite make the Top 10, but they feel is on the rise and should be watched.

While we do our best to ensure that we are fair and impartial, it is important to remember that these are just opinions and will most likely change weekly. If you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions, please send them our way. We’d love to hear from you!

FlipSid3 Tactics

Roster: M1k3rules, Markydooda, Kuxir97

It's the top dogs, the bee's knees, the £10 note you find in between the cushions.... FlipSid3 Tactics have proven to us all they are not only the #1 team in Europe, but also the #1 team in the world, beating everyone in their path during the MLG playoffs, including Shazoo, vQ Untethered and SWARM. As if that wasn't enough, they went ahead and won the first ever RocketRoyale after taking out both SWARM and Cosmic Aftershock. Then, because they're both drunk on alcohol and power, they went ahead and won the ESL September Monthly finals, beating Teamus Weamus, Team Rocket, and Peacehater. They dotted their I's, they crossed their T's and they posted their letters with proper stamp usage in plenty of time in case their letters didn't arrive on time. This team checked so many boxes that they're putting FedEx out of business. Ladies and gentlemen, the world's greatest Rocket League team, FlipSid3 Tactics.

Swarm Gaming

Roster: paschy90, de_boer_bros, stocki1997

Swarm has been the second best team in Europe for quite some time. In the most hyped match-up in Rocket League competitive history, they took FlipSid3 to the edge in a thrilling MLG Pro League championship game, going up 3-2 before finally falling short 4-3 in the best of 7 to take home the 2nd place $700 prize. This after knocking out PeaceHater in the first round, and vQ Untethered in the 2nd. And with the addition of RocketRoyale and the performance that we saw from Swarm in that tournament, including once again besting vQ Untethered in a best of 7, they have solidified that spot - but this time, not just in Europe, but the world! In the next round they once again lost to nemesis FlipSid3 in a 4-1 series. On Monday during the ESL Monthly final, they were actually brought down by PeaceHaters in the semi-finals. Swarm is a fairly consistent team and this loss does not drop them in the rankings this week, but to maintain their top two ranking, we will need to see some closer matches with FlipSid3 Tactics and a more consistent tournament regimen. And I swear he only left five minutes ago... Anyone seen de Boer?!?

Roster: xGodLiightx, Killerno7, SikiiCEM

PeaceHaters may be #3 on our list, but they’re #1 in name changes. Best known as SS Stars, the stellar group of Killerno7, sikiiCem and “Got” light (as caster Teknolink called him during Monday's shoutcasts) had a busy weekend, as so many of our top teams did. They won their first ESL on Sunday, then in the ESL monthly competition on Monday, they emerged victorious against Swarm in the semifinals, while taking powerhouse FlipSid3 to 6 games in the finals. Whatever they call themselves, PeaceHaters once again demonstrate this week they deserve to be in the mix for top tier status.

Team Rocket

Roster: Noir_1992, Doomsee, I Am A Tree

Team Rocket takes a big win this week over Team Shazoo and Swarm Gaming in the ESL Monthly, which edges them over Shazoo in the power rankings this week, even with the disappointing finish in ESL on Sunday. With the addition of Noir_1992 as their permanent third, we are confident that Team Rocket can challenge for the top spots in the upcoming RocketRoyale (should they qualify) and will make a big splash in the ESL. I am looking forward to another upset this week and I hope Team Rocket won’t be blasting… You know what, nevermind. That joke is so old now.

Team Shazoo

Roster: Oneill_clan, Vogan, Skyline, Meeps

Shazoo? More like Shazwho am I right? Nah, they're alright. During the MLG Playoffs they took a game off FlipSid3 Tactics but ultimately lost 4-1 in the end. No surprises there. They didn't enter ESL this Sunday due to their busy schedule of tournaments, but nonetheless they were a part of the September EU Monthly Finals on Monday, where they fought long and hard against Team Rocket in the first round, but lost 3-2 in the end.

Supersonic Avengers

Roster: sfex3best, ELMP, onno_ole

Supersonic Avengers is like that guy at a party who is trying to join a group conversation but doesn't want to interfere too much, so they kind of slowly approach everyone and try to sneak in when there's a joke so they join in with the laughter. Week after week, slowly but surely, Supersonic Avengers have been crawling up the ladder. This week they got all the way to the finals of ESL, but ultimately got shut down by PeaceHaters 4-1.

Roster: Yemen, X3MW, Dadoo

Yemen/snowarsdash/whatever he’s calling himself is known throughout the community as a bit of a character, to put it mildly. Probably most famous for quitting competing for former EU powerhouse Team Epic, there’s no telling what he’s going to do from one moment to the next. Now he’s formed a group with burgeoning superstar X3MW and teammate Dadoo. They won ESL last week. This week they made a nice run to the semifinals of Gfinity before bowing to Swarm, then lost to eventual finalist SS Avengers in the quarterfinals of ESL. I continue to expect big things from Complain as long as Yemen doesn’t decide to quit on his team somewhere along the way.

Teamus Weamus

Roster: Wrong_Way_Woody, AFN1910, eLLooN, GBM_RevolutioN, UKscottUK

The alternate squad for FlipSid3 Tactics, Teamus Weamus (or TeamB WeamB as one pundit calls them) has made a name for themselves away from their brethren. They had an unfortunate bracket placement opposite F3 in both Gfinity and the ESL monthly finals on Monday, so their ranking here mostly reflects their past accomplishments, since they didn’t compete in the ESL on Sunday. A steady presence in our top 10, we continue to look for them to be a formidable presence against anyone, although they’ll need to keep it up to fend off all the teams chasing after their coveted spot.

Roster: Linkuru, Anduru, D3tin

YouMyZero is one of the most consistent teams in the European scene. They seem to always put up a good showing but are having a hard time getting through some of the top teams. Losing to up and comer Ka-Pow in r16 in Gfinity, and then falling to PeaceHaters in the r16 (after a revenge victory over Ka-Pow) in the week's ESL tournament, places them near the bottom of our power rankings. But I have faith! With the upcoming qualifier for RocketRoyale, I am hoping YouMyZero can pull out all the stops to earn their spot in that tournament. Continuous improvement is important for any job but for Rocket League and professional eSports, it is vital. This is your time YouMyZero. Make the most of it.

Killer Moose Horde

Roster: iRizZ0, Mega Shogun V2, Beeeaans, Lemon, DexNine

As my team to look for last week, Killer Moose Horde made me look like a genius for advancing all the way to 3rd place in ESL. While they weren’t victorious over any other teams in the top 10, they beat a slew of squads right on the outside of it, for a well earned debut in the top 10. I know iRiZzo primarily from his former team, Wreck-A-Mended, and Shogun is well known in the community. With Beeeaans’s schedule, they’ve played with both NA player DexNine as well as Lemon as their third. To advance any higher, they’ll need to solidify their lineup, but for now I’m delighted to see their early success.
