Welcome to the Rocket League Power Rankings!

Each week, our committee will be ranking the best teams based on a variety of criteria as well as providing commentary on the teams who make it into the Top 10. The committee is comprised of players, content creators, fans, analysts, & coordinators to help diversify opinions and come to a general consensus. Each committee member has their own method for determining team rankings (ranging from stat-tracking to instinct), but they only count for a single vote since the individual ranks are averaged together. Each member will also list a team that didn't quite make the Top 10, but they feel is on the rise and should be watched.

While we do our best to ensure that we are fair and impartial, it is important to remember that these are just opinions and will most likely change weekly. If you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions, please send them our way. We’d love to hear from you!

Nuovo Gaming

Roster: Bango, SnarfSnarf, Montyconnor

I thought about digging up one of my old writeups about SQL from six months ago and doing a copy/pasta, because the situations are virtually the same. For some time now, Nuovo Gaming has been virtually untouchable. Problem is, that’s not entirely true. This week they went up against Heart &Swole, a team well outside of the top 10, and they stumbled enough to give up two games. Nuovo should not be dropping games to anyone outside of the top 4, so maybe it’s just having a week off. Or maybe there are chinks in the armor starting to appear, and if so, there’ll be teams studying the match to see what they can exploit in the coming weeks!

Abyss eSports

Roster: Addzey, Express, TheSchoolBus

In one week, Abyss eSports will get a second shot at the number one spot in the region, when they face Nuovo Gaming in the Winter Champs A Group. Knowing this team, however, they won’t be thinking about that. They’ll treat all three opponents in the group with the same respect. They’ll prepare just as hard for their matches against Control and Furox as they do for Nuovo Gaming. Consistency and good preparation is what makes this team as strong as they are. Now what they need is that magic that could come to any game of Rocket League, where everything goes just right. They certainly deserve it.

Alpha Sydney

Roster: Dumbo, Dicky, Stoney

A quiet one this week with most teams opting to only play their Cybergamer match. Alpha Sydney came out victorious with a 4 – 1 series win and a strong showing against Velocity. The result was definitely a momentum booster which will help them coming into their next match against a tough opponent in Abyss eSports.

Another One

Roster: OssyOsbert, Stig, Cyrix, Plitzinator

So, the first competitive OCE match I ever watch is of Legacy eSports vs Another One, I casually watched expecting Legacy to win 3-2 or 4-1. Infact that seemed very likely after a somewhat convincing win in the first game, where Legacy and Another One were tied 1-1 until the last minute, Legacy scoring 4 quick goals. All of this due to some poor defense and organisation from Another One which closed out the first game 5-1 in favour of Legacy... I thought that this game would signify the series loss for Another One… Yet this didn’t seem to happen, Another One came back strong winning the next four games in a row with fairly significant margins: 3-2, 6-4, 5-1 and 4-2. Combined with the win they achieved in the RLO $90 tournament (where Dumbo, from Alpha Sydney, subbed in for OssyOsbert), they have earnt a rise into the top 4 of the Power Rankings. It’s truly looking great for Another One. From losing their first 3 CyberGamer matches and not making the final stages of the $200 Erase ODC, they truly brought themselves back up and are starting to look like the favourites to make the top 4 of CyberGamer Season 3 Invitational. However, this week they will be up against the number 1 team in OCE, Nuovo Gaming. This will be an important match for Another One if they truly want to clinch that top 4 spot, and will be great preparation for Sunday where they will be competing in the RLOC finals.

Legacy

Roster: Soma, eren, Orion

The kings of Oce for so long we see drop to 5th this week in light of their CGp 4-1 loss to Another One. Really this should have been Legacy’s series to take as A1 had lost their first 3 matches of CGp only getting a win in the 4th round where they matched against Heart &Swole who at the time of writing this have no series wins to their name. Legacy might have gone into the series over confident thinking they could take a easy win over A1. This might have definitely been the case after they took the first game 5-1 with 4 goals scored in the last minute, then everything went bad for Legacy with Another One sweeping the next 4 game comfortably Legacy nowhere to be seen. After the first round loss to Alpha Sydney I feel like this might have upset their confidence in themselves after quite dominantly having control over Oce for so long.

Fachy

Control eSports

Roster: Drippay, Daisu, Turtle

Control continue their consistent form with another win in CGi against Team Furox. The series was a close one with Control pulling through as victors in a 3-2 series win. This win means Control remain undefeated throughout the current CGi season. With RLOC finals in a week and a bit, Control will need to put the practice in as they face a very tough group.

cyrix

Velocity

Roster: Fachy, Fake, Siki, Seeker

A shaky week for Velocity, with a 1-4 loss against Alpha Sydney in their CGp match. They entered the RLO $90 tournament subbing in Lukorice from Erase FD instead of Seeker, and managed to come 4th after beating Team Supremacy, eventually being defeated by Invidious and Alpha One. At this point they are almost guaranteed to not make the top 4 finals, with Legacy and Another One being favourites to take the 4th spot. Velocity use a very aggressive controlling playstyle, and it appears to require full confidence in their rotations and themselves to work 100%. It may be tournament nerves, or lack of recent practice, but if they get their playstyle back, they will be taking names once more.

yumi_cheeseman

InVidious

Roster: Sparks, French Fries, Coleslaw

It’s good to see InVidious back in tournaments and this week we got to see them take third place in the RLO $90 tournament. They were beaten by Abyss +1 and Alpha One, but took wins against Velo FD and Alpha One in the winner’s bracket. They lost their CG series against Legacy 1-4 and Abyss 1-4, and with that lost their hopes of making it to the top 4 finals, but hopefully they make the bounce back over the next few weeks as we look forward to seeing them compete again.

yumi_cheeseman

Team furoX

Roster: Kapow_power, Kapow_power, Outlast

Furox have been stuck on that 10th position for a while and this week they finally pushed on through. In the latest power rankings we see Furox are tied 8th after a somewhat up and down week. They had a close series with Control, just losing out 2-3. While in the RLO Bs bracket they met with Singularity in the grand final coming out victorious in a 3-1 win. If Furox want to move up more in the rankings they’ll have to work harder and push for more consistency, imo.

cyrix

Gameroos XD

Roster: yumi_cheeseman, aoe_emp, DaBeastXD

Only 1 series to round out the week for Gameroos being the CGi match against the revamped roster of Erase Venom (Eoin, Scorch and Fast Car). Where it was a blowout in favour of Gameroos winning the series 5-0. Even with this very convincing win it was against an equally as unconvincing team so this allows for other teams to make their way up the ladder in place of Gameroos. If Gameroos want to stop falling they’ll have to show some more competitive wins in RLO or Gameroos tournaments.
