Welcome to the Rocket League Power Rankings!

Each week, our committee will be ranking the best teams based on a variety of criteria as well as providing commentary on the teams who make it into the Top 10. The committee is comprised of players, content creators, fans, analysts, & coordinators to help diversify opinions and come to a general consensus. Each committee member has their own method for determining team rankings (ranging from stat-tracking to instinct), but they only count for a single vote since the individual ranks are averaged together. Each member will also list a team that didn't quite make the Top 10, but they feel is on the rise and should be watched.

While we do our best to ensure that we are fair and impartial, it is important to remember that these are just opinions and will most likely change weekly. If you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions, please send them our way. We’d love to hear from you!

Cosmic Aftershock

Roster: Kronovi, Gibbs, Sadjunior

Cosmic Aftershock asserted their dominance yet again this week as they obliterated Air Force Two 6-0 in the MLG Pro League, soundly beat Perfect Storm 3-1 in yesterday's ESL Cup #7, and won the tournament with a 4-2 final over vQ Untethered. Last week I personally had Cosmic at #2, but winning twice against vQu in a week's span is no small feat and definitely warrants bumping Cosmic back up to the top. These two squads are unquestionably the leaders of the North American competitive scene and until proven otherwise, Cosmic Aftershock reigns supreme.

vQ Untethered

Roster: Lachinio, Pluto, Vafele

Ever since adding Pluto to their lineup, Untethered has been an elite team, pushing the indomitable Gibbs and his Cosmic Aftershock cohorts for the top spot. All three of Lachinio, Pluto, and Vafele are capable of putting the team on their back at any point in time. After despoiling strong EU threats Supersonic SS in the Pro League last Thursday night 5-1, they managed to sharknado through ESL on Sunday unscathed, until finally meeting their match in long time nemesis CA in a thrilling final. Going down 4-2, with two overtimes, and one 3 goal comeback by CA in the final 1:30, Untethered shows time and time again the gap between them and CA is as skinny as Kate Bosworth on a diet.

Kings of Urban

Roster: Gambit, Fireburner, KyleMasc

.......................Oh, you are still here? I'm not sure Kings of Urban are. They have decided to not participate in ESL's for the time being which leaves us with not much to talk about. They trounced Mad Magic for the MLG Pro League but besides that, not much to go on. For now they stay top 3 but with Perfect Storm and Orange Creamsicle performing so well things could change next week.

Orange Creamsicle

Roster: Edwind, Quinn Lobdell, Enigma_Please

As a team doing their best Elijah-rising-in-a-chariot-on-fire impression, OC did not disappoint in their latest ESL outing, crushing all opposition on their way to a semifinal match-up with Untethered, before coming up short. Then they bested Perfect Storm in a thrilling 3-2 match-up to claim the throne of best post SARPBC team, and a unanimous #4 in our vaunted rankings. While fending off a rash of contenders below, somehow they need to elevate their game to take down one of the top three before being considered one of the big dogs.

Perfect Storm

Roster: Jacob, Elmirfudd, UsedWolf

Perfect Storm takes a slight tumble this week due to losses against Orange Creamsicle twice in the past week. They picked up ElmirFudd from Propulsion, but even that solid pick-up wasn't enough to prevent a lopsided defeat (1-5) to Flipsid3 Tactics in the MLG Pro League. This new combination of players will definitely need some time to gel and form a cohesive unit before they can realize their full potential. Still soundly in the Top 5, though, they'll need to do more than just take a single game off of Cosmic Aftershock to prove that they belong any higher.

Mad Magic

Roster: zOctanez, TvLow5ive, cougycougs, FicklePlatypus

Crushed by Kings Of Urban in their Pro League debut 6-0, then in an unfortunate bracket set up, beaten by Perfect Storm in straight games 3-0 in r64 during ESL, Mad Magic finds themselves in a situation where they’re ranked where they are because no one below them has bested them, yet, more so than they’re earning their keep. Missing superstar and captain, cougycoug --- who likely won’t be playing for them on Sundays --- Tuesday is their big opportunity for redemption in a rematch against Perfect Storm in the MLG Pro League. A strong showing would do wonders to solidify their place in the top ten, while another 6-0 whitewashing will probably see them move down a few spots.

Mob Royalty

Roster: Drpepperman3, Flyingpotaotoman, JayTee4Life

Mob Royalty has been consistently involved in the competitive scene for Rocket League since the beginning and a quick look at their ESL cup history shows that they have been trending upwards for quite some time. For the most part, they've only been losing to teams at the top of the rankings but really needed a signature win to propel themselves into the Top 10. Yesterday, they took out The Dirty Donkeys (previous Top 10 team and MLG/ESL finalist) in a fairly convincing fashion before losing to Cosmic Aftershock in 3 straight games. They've done enough to warrant a place in our rankings this week, but will need to continue the upwards trend if they intend to stay.

Divine Entity

Roster: Ardiex, Cinemuh, MC Kirk, Sneeks

Divine Entity looked pretty strong last Monday when they lost to "Untethered Aftershock" (Waffles, Lachinio and, Gibbs) and they proved it this week in ESL. They beat the struggling Air Force Two and Super Party Waterpark before falling to vQ Untethered. Are these guys the reborn "Kreesus" of Rocket League? Probably not, but I could see them fighting for the number 3 spot soon.

Double Tap

Roster: Jamesbot, Flow, Sir PancakeIII, Pulse696

Double Tap is a team that has been on my radar for quite awhile. They started off as the Dertroit Rocketcats in a tournament I ran for Rocket League Central and fared pretty well for a PC team I subbed in at the last second. After a bit of a roster tweak, they then jumped over to ESL once private cross-play lobbies were patched in and proceeded to work their way up the ranks there. A few weeks ago, they switched to the current name, Double Tap, and have been on a tear taking down both GoodFellas Alpha & Charlie as well as Supernova. They lost a very close 3-2 match to The Dirty Donkeys last week and then lost 3-1 to Orange Creamsicle this week. This team's stay in the Top 10 could be over quickly if they don't perform well next week, but a few key wins could push them up into the Top 6.

Roster: Flapjack, Snowzone, xNeks

Domakumi took one game off CA! TAKE THEM OFF THE LIST! Surprisingly, I am the only one to have them on my list and I have them at 6. I really think this team is a talented group and they have a good chance at challenging Creamsicle and Storm for the top 5. We can only hope they face off next ESL.
