Welcome to the Rocket League Power Rankings!

Each week, our committee will be ranking the best teams based on a variety of criteria as well as providing commentary on the teams who make it into the Top 10. The committee is comprised of players, content creators, fans, analysts, & coordinators to help diversify opinions and come to a general consensus. Each committee member has their own method for determining team rankings (ranging from stat-tracking to instinct), but they only count for a single vote since the individual ranks are averaged together. Each member will also list a team that didn't quite make the Top 10, but they feel is on the rise and should be watched.

While we do our best to ensure that we are fair and impartial, it is important to remember that these are just opinions and will most likely change weekly. If you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions, please send them our way. We’d love to hear from you!

Flipsid3 Tactics

Roster: M1k3rules, Markydooda, kuxir97

For weeks, there has been a significant gap between the #1 and #2 spots in all of European Rocket League. As of this week, however, the gap is shrinking. Despite Flipsid3's success in the ESL Europe Cup #8, the challenge they faced not only by perennial #2 Swarm Gaming but also by Team Shazoo should be enough to give the Kings of EU pause: someone is coming for their crown.

Swarm Gaming

Roster: paschy90, de_boer_bros, stocki1997

There hasn’t been a more impactful addition than stocki1997 to Swarm Gaming since Daniel Craig took over James Bond duties. They win the Gfinity title on Friday over Teamus Weamus 4-2, then turn around and march through ESL on Sunday, taking out Stocki’s former team, Supersonic Stars, in a thrilling 3-2 series. But that was merely a Gordon Ramsey prepared hors d’oeuvre, compared to the titanic seesaw struggle to come. Thoroughly smashed at the beginning of the 7 game championship, down 3-0 in the series to perennial rival Flipsid3, Swarm Gaming roared back to even the series 3-3, only to fall once again into their Sisyphean bridesmaid role, losing the last game and the series, 4-3. This week they face two critical series in the MLG Pro League. First, NA powerhouse Kings of Urban on Tuesday night, then Perfect Storm on Thursday, in two matches that will go a long way towards determining final seeding in their division.

Team Shazoo

Roster: Oneill_clan, Vogan, Skyline, Meeps

While a regular face in the Top 10, Team Shazoo was utterly captivating this week as they stepped toe to toe with Goliath and nearly struck him down. In the Europe Cup #8 semi-final match-up with Flipsid3 Tactics, Shazoo overcame a 2-game deficit to challenge F3 in a Game 5. Shazoo demonstrated nearly impeccable skill on both sides of the ball, forcing Flipsid3 to bring everything they had to a series they only narrowly won. When O'Neill returns, Shazoo may very well be the team that slays the beast.

SupersonicStars

Roster: xGodLiightx, Killerno7, SikiiCEM

With Supersonic Stars' recent player switch with Swarm, people were curious as to whether or not they could stay as one of the best without Stocki, but Supersonic Stars have certainly shown that they can hold their own without him, beating both Team Rocket and Shazoo in the ESL Europe Cup #8.

Doomsee

Team Rocket

Roster: Cole, Doomsee, I Am A Tree

Winning the coveted Team Schizophrenia award, Team Rocket’s performances can best be described as inexplicable. Looking like they had returned to elite status last week, this week sees them taking a 2-0 lead in the Gfinity quarterfinals, only to fall to the kuxir97 Moses-like carry of Teamus Weamus to a reverse sweep. Then in the ESL they beat very good squads like Team Renewal and YouMyZero, only to fall to the SS Stars in another quarterfinals exit. Forrest Gump would call them a box of chocolates. I’m hoping for the kind filled with caramel this coming week, and not one filled with that nasty pink stuff that you put back in the box after chipping off a corner on the bottom to see what kind it is.

Generation of Billys

Roster: ZoopaNova, zoomytail, Puma4live, xHunTer_Fakyy

Generation of Billys fought hard this week, but came up short up against Shazoo, losing 3-0. They are a consistent team, playing often and with energy, but without further improvements to their game, they are destined to be stuck in the middle of the top 10, and new teams are knocking on the door.

Doomsee

Teamus Weamus

Roster: Wrong_Way_Woody, AFN1910, eLLooN, GBM_RevolutioN, UKscottUK

The nature of Teamus Weamus is often something unique. We don't typically see the team compete week-to-week, but when they do, they tend to emerge as a strong contender. This past week, Weamus participated in the Gfinity EU Cup, bringing in Flipsid3's wall-crawling Peter Parker himself, Kuxir, to help lead the way. With Kux, Weamus was practically unstoppable, going through a host of lesser teams and even upsetting Team Rocket in 5 games to cut a route to the finals against Swarm Gaming. The real tests are always how Weamus fares without the likes of Kuxir, however, so we'll have to see if they can keep the momentum up in the weeks to come.

YouMyZero

Roster: Linkuru, Anduru, D3tin

YouMyZero's biggest hurdle continues to be their inability to play in many tournaments, typically due to connection issues with Anduru. This past ESL, the skilled striker was replaced by defensive machine Law from Team Epic (who did not compete). While the trio fared well, they had a difficult time contending with Team Rocket and left far earlier than they should have. If YMZ can work out the technical issues, they possess the talent to make a clear cut shot at the top 3 spots.

Shalthis

Team Epic

Roster: Law, MartinTheBoss, YemenTheCountry, KrabKebab, xkoeckiiej

Displaying the kind of prestidigitatorial acumen Houdini would look with wonder upon, Team Epic has decided the best way to stay in the top 10 is simply not to play anyone. We here at the committee are certainly not going to reward that kind of...wait, what? You’re kidding, right? Hehe. Sorry about that folks. What I meant to say is that a very deserving Team Epic remains in our top 10 by going undefeated on the week! Not one to rest on their laurels, I for one expect a similar performance from this once and future powerhouse in the coming 7 days, so they can once again cement their status in our coveted top 10 rankings! I’d tell you more about this team, but I can’t clear off the dust in our archives in the time I have left, to tell you what they’ve accomplished.

Supersonic Avengers

Roster: sfex3best, ELMP, onno_ole

Supersonic Avengers used to be the defensive powerhouse, putting up a fight against even the top strikers, but with the rapid improvement of other teams, Supersonic Avengers have been falling flat. Their improvement rate has been slow, and serious changes are needed if they want to rise in the ranks again. Despite getting to the quarters of the ESL Europe Cup #8, they were immediately destroyed by Flipsid3 Tactics in 3 straight games.
