7 years ago by HoxianYob in Esports
The team that has eliminated NRG the previous 2 seasons now faces them again. But this time, they are in the Upper Bracket, so no possibility of Elimintation in this match up. Yet. The Lineups

NRG: Jacob

NRG: FireBurner

NRG: GarrettG

F3: Markydooda

F3: Kuxir97

F3: gReazymeister

Game 1

A risky touch from Marky over his own goal but gRreazy can rotate in to clear the danger. Jacob saves a long shot from Kuxir and a shot by Garrett on the turn around is saved by Kux. A sloppy goal with fireBurner getting the credit it for it as all the cars collide together to somehow send the ball into the F3 Goal. Kuxir off the back to a teammate thats not their because Jacob rotates in to clear it away. A whiff from Kuxir after a smart pass from Jacob goes straight out towards FireBurner who gets his second of the game. Fire takes his time and Kux takes the ball off his hands and can pinch it to the blue half. GarrettG gets up high fir a shot and Jacob fakes a touch so it fires straight into the net. Ball falls down in front of the goal for NRG but Jacob beats Kuxir to the ball. Marky plays it onto his goal post to make some room for an attack, and as the countdown begins, NRG secure their Game 1 victory.

Game 2

Can F3 bounce back? gReazy moves it into the blue half of the field and a shot from Garrett on the counter sees Kuxir save his effort. Jacob with a scrappy back pass to Fire who can boom it up field to safety. NRG Passing and Fire can't connect with the final ball to place NRG in the lead. 0-0. Kuxir passes to Marky, he passes it to gReazy and it goes bar down and bounces a few times before settling in the goal, and blowing up. Marky dribbles past Jacob but is met by Garrett who has a wide net due to Jacob disturbing the F3 defense. A demo and a bit of an over commit from F3 means that Fireburners clearance can trickle in and Jacob is nice and doesn't goal steal. gReazy to Kuxir but Jacob beats him to it, a counter and Fire hits the crossbar twice and then his teammate can follow up to make a 2 goal cushion for NRG. Kuxir nearly gets on the end of a pass to drop it down but can't quite get to it before the defense. 0:40 to go and as fire passes to Jacob he can put the nail in the coffin to secure match point for NRG. Or is it? As Kuxir gets a pass from gReazy to get a late goal back. Another pass play and Kuxir can boom it in the top corner and 1 goal in it, 19 seconds to go. FireBurner makes sure they dont lose as he can push the ball past the defense and give Match Point NRG.

Game 3

Make or break for Flipsid3 as they need the next 3 games to take the series. Marky can clear off the wall. Some disjointed slow play from the Orange Team as they try to conjure an opportunity but Garrett can clear it away. Jacob gets 2 demos on the F3 players but they spawn back before anything drastic happens. A shot from Fireburner goes really wide and F3 can reset with ball in hand. A miss touch off the back wall and Marky can block a shot from Fire to keep the scoreline at 0-0. Kux takes a gentle touch away from his goal and can follow up with a boom over the midfield defense. Marky almost gets a Midfield bounce shot but Jacob is aware of the danger and can stop it before he scores. gReazy with a pinch to safety as they look to Turtle up on defense once again. 1:00 to go and F3 are still holding on in the series with these drastic changes. momentum shifting in favor of the EU seed and Marky passes to his partner Kuxir and he can drop it in for a 1-0 advantage. gReazy can clear away from his goal and Kuxir doesnt get the goal at the end, it doesn't matter though, as they take a game off NRG.

Game 4

Garrett almost gets a ground pinch into the goal straight away, but instead Marky can land perfectly to collect the ball and push it into the goal and take an early advantage for the team chasing the series, and gReazy gets a flip shot right under the crossbar and the lead is doubled. Jacob dis-posses his teammate Fire in order to attempt a shot, but it goes slightly wide. Garrett plays it back but Kuxir is up to block away the challenge. A shot from Garrett beats 2 but the follow up from Jacob can't get past the boostless MarkyDooda. Marky up for a shot but Jacob gets to the ball slightly faster to clear it away. The ball drops of the backboard to FireBurner who is beaten by the opposition Batmobile to deny him the shot. Once again the ball is in the Orange half but they aren't constructing good shots to challenge the defenders. Kuxir gets juked out but the shot from Fire is not followed up by anyone to keep the lead at 2-0. gReazy can seal the game by taking a very slim touch past the onrushing defender and he can tap the ball straight in for a 3-0. Some attacks wilter out, *and We go to Game 5!*

Game 5

Here is is the all important Game 5 to see who progress' in the Upper Bracket, can NRG break the F3 curse? Fire gets a good save to the side and he can then loft it high and away from his half. Fire can demo the goalie and GarrettG gets up high and drops it down onto the goal, 1-0 NRG. Marky to the middle but no follow up by his teammates. He eventually finds Kuxir but once again Garrett is there to rid of the ball. gReazy gets a horrible whiff in the midfield and Fire can shoot from the mid and increase the lead to 2. Jacob tries to carry it up and over the defense but can't. A fake from garrett breaks a few axels and a demo on the goalie means that the lead is extended to 3-0. Marky can follow the ball and push it past Jacob and reduce the lead to 2 goals. 2 minutes. 2 goals. Kuxir towards gReazy who bumps Jacob and the lead is now 1! With bundles of time to go. Kuxir lobs the defense but can't get the tap in as Jacob retreats and pinches it to safety. gReazy gets intercepted by the defence and a shot from FireBurner is only saved away. 20 to go. Marky plays it out. Fire keeps the pressure on. the countdown Fire sends it up, no 0 second goal for Kuxir as NRG take their first series from F3 on a LAN stage.

Summary

After a demanding start from NRG, F3 were able to change and adapt but NRG could hang on towards the later parts of Game 5 to get their place in the Upper Final.
