RLCS World Championship - Mock-it eSports vs Rogue

7 years ago by HoxianYob in Esports
Both these teams looked very hot in their opening contests of the LAN. It will be a tough one to call, but home crowd advantage plays in favor of the NA side. The Lineups

MOCK: Kaydop

MOCK: Fairy Peak!

MOCK: Miztik

ROGUE: Sizz

ROGUE: Matt

ROGUE: Turtle

Game 1

Rogue start off the same way they ended yesterday immediatley striking the crossbar. Sizz can rotate back and block a Fairy Peak attempt onto goal. A miztik pinch with Sizz ends up in the Orange net and Mock-it take the lead 1 minute in. A poor clear is took advantage of by Kaydop but Matt able to body block the shot and stop the threat. Fairy flicks it to the middle but Miztik fails to connect to make the lead 2. Sizz with a clear from a weak shot from above and Rogue are struggling to break off defense. Matt with a double touch down to teammate Turtle but he is harassed off the ball before he can conjure a goal. 1:00 to go. Matt can get a touch to a teammate but no one is there, allowing a counter and Kaydop passes to Fairy to double the lead late in the game. A lapse on defense as Sizz gets launched and Miztik can roll the ball in from close range. Ball trapped in the blue corner, and as the clock dies, Mock-it take Game 1

Game 2

Not much action early in the game, Mock-it start similarly with some controlled offense. But as Sizz plays it to the backboard, Matt can follow up and get the next goal. This is dangerous for Mock as they are now feeling more confident and the crowd are chanting again. An even 50/50 from the two teams drops to the midfield and Fairy snags possession. Turtle rolls on the ground and almost pinches the ball in but an over commit and the Frenchman Kaydop can counter to equalize. 1-1. Kaydop demos Matt but the ball pops up for Sizz and he scores them shots, ALL DAY BABY. 2-1 Rogue. A doink from Turtle is slightly wide and moments later Matt receives a pass and can drop it down to the top of the goal. Rogue have the 2 goal cushion now. Sizz up on the backboard and he can clear any pass attempts from the EU #1 Seed to maintain the healthy lead. A miss from Miztik but Kaydop can follow up to reduce the Home Teams lead to only a singular goal. 30 seconds to go and Mock-it remain on offense, Fairy Peak collects the ball and flicks Matt to tie the game up with 26 seconds to go. Matt can save an attempt from Kaydop and the ball drops for Overtime, after a Kaydop shot hits the goal line. Sizz up for a touch in but the calculations are just incorrect and he strikes the crossbar. Miztik follows up an air bump and can almost Dunk it down into the Rogue goal, A pass from Fairy onto the corner finds Kaydop who hits the angle to put Mock-It esports, On Match Point.

Game 3

An early shot from Mock-it is followed up with some early possession. Sizz sends it up and it hits the crossover of the wall and ceiling, no one is there to tap it home however. A weak shot and good patience sees Matt able to send the ball to the side. Another opportunity from Rogue goes begging as a Demo takes the onrushing attacker out of the player. 2 minutes gone and the game is still tied up, due to no constant pressure on either goal. Matt gets an opportunity to flick the ball but its too low and easily fended off by the strong EU defense. With no one in net, Fairy Peak tries to get a close angle but he can't and Rogue can retreat into the goal. Turtle takes a shot from the right side but it strikes the crossbar and bounces to freedom. Fairy plays it to the middle but Miztik can't get a touch to move it in. A double commit from Mock-it and Sizz can rotate in from the Right hand side and grab the opening goal of the game with less than 30 seconds to go. The ball drops and Rogue are still in it!

Game 4

Urban Central plays host to Game 4 and an early goal from Sizz gets the crowd on their feet, he can snipe a top left angle from close range and moments later Sizz can follow up with a well places Aerial past the two last defenders. Mock-it with ball possession but can't make much of it, Miztik lifts it over Matt but then is stuck with what to do and they can't make anything of it. Fairy pushes it into the middle but no one from the EU team can move up on it. Miztik comes up from Midfield to take a boomer down onto the goal but the defense of Matt remains strong to keep the clean sheet. Kaydop pushes the ball low but it goes horizontally so the ball rolls past the beckoning goal. 1:00 to go and Rogue are looking strong. A pass from Miztik off the post to Miztik and he can get one back against Rogue and then Kaydop can flick it over Matt and tie the game up again late in the game. Kaydop plays it onto the backboard and its rather timidly played away by the defense. We have Overtime! One goal for Mock-it and they move on. Matt plays it across the Field but to the opponent Kaydop who returns it with a long clear. Rogue being careful in their own half with possession. A shot from Kaydop hits the post and a follow up from Fairy is too weak to cause a threat. Matt clatters with the ball and pushes it to the side. Fairy to miztik and with an open goal, Kaydop scores an open goal to secure the series win.

Summary

Mock-it controlled the play for much of that series and were able to make some comebacks in Games 2 and 4 to tie up their spot in the Upper Final.
